The long awaited Animation Project.

Over the last couple of years, I've been working on and off on a Star Wars animation project as a remake from the original 1977 sci-film, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. This isn't a project with a small team, it's just been me. The animation project is based off of the battle of yavin scene which was near the end of the first film. I've taken my models that I created, to animate and simulate a similar experience from the film in this project created entirely in Blender.

Here to the left you'll see a screenshot of the project opened in Blender from the trenchrun scene. A lot of these scene's normally take a few hours or more to put together, and the render process can take days and even weeks to render.

To the right is a completed rendered image of that same scene. The process of rendering involves multiple blur samples, ray tracing and compositing with a number of other settings and adjustments.

While working through the render process, I'm prepping and animating the other scenes so to keep moving forward. The major factor that plays into this project is trying to find the time to keep progressing through it during the evenings. As I keep working through it, I would anticipate it's completion in the next few months.
